Nice to Meet you
My name is Ami, and I am the creator behind the cookies! My husband, John, is my biggest supporter and keeps up with my need for positive affirmations and puts up with my scattered, sometimes crazy ideas. We have 2 beautiful girls, Emma and Elliana. They just love eating the “mess-ups” and learning to decorate too!
I am a nurse by day and cookier, cheer mom, and soccer mom by night and weekends so I keep myself quite busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! I thrive on a bit of chaos and my cookies keep me grounded and allow me a creative outlet.
My absolute favorite thing to do outside of cookies is travel to our beautiful 2nd home in northern Italy. We are all dual citizens, and we hope to retire there one day. We love to fully immerse ourselves with the local culture, people, and language. Finding off the beaten path, untouched, authentic scenery, hikes, lakes, and castles always end up being the best, most memorable experiences. Give me a quiet walk along a lake in the mountains over museums or shopping in a big tourist city or a crowded day at the beach any day!
HOW I GOT STARTED
My love of cookies all started after a mini class I took at the Pinners Conference in Dallas in late 2018 with my bestie. We took a full Christmas cookie class several weeks after that, and I was IN LOVE!! I couldn’t wait to go home, bake, and try to see if I could do it on my own.
I soaked in information from wherever I could get it. YouTube, Pinterest, and Instagram were my continuing education teachers. I spent countless hours perfecting the recipes for both the cookies and the icing. That was WAY harder than I anticipated. Especially the icing! Consistency and coloring are a real art to get just right.
I started posting some pics of my work on my personal FB page and my little side gig started to take off! I stay cognizant of the value of my time and make sure that it stays fun and never feels like work. I pour my heart and passion into each cookie as if I were making them for my own family.
One thing that drew me to nursing is teaching and educating. I have a passion for inspiring others and bringing out sides of them they never knew existed. My favorite part of my little cookie business lately has been the classes. I am most looking forward to growing in that area as it molds both of my passions together into one!
